At Realize Your Potential Youth Society (RYP), we are committed to empowering youth from the African Diaspora to excel in all aspects of life. As an RYP Ambassador, you will play a key role in shaping the future of your community, mentoring the next generation of leaders, and supporting a mission of self-identity, confidence, and leadership. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and personal development, you will help empower youth to build a brighter future.

Who Are RYP Dreamers and Ambassadors?

  • RYP Dreamers (Ages 7-15): RYP Dreamers are the future leaders of tomorrow. We provide them with a safe and supportive space to explore their self-identity, build confidence, and discover new opportunities.
  • RYP Ambassadors (Ages 16-26): As an Ambassador, you will serve as a mentor, role model, and leader. You will guide RYP Dreamers, contribute to the development of RYP’s initiatives, and foster a spirit of intergenerational mentoring, bridging the gap between generations. Your leadership will help ensure Dreamers can realize their full potential.

Your Role as an RYP Ambassador

As an RYP Ambassador, you will:

  1. Mentor RYP Dreamers: Guide Dreamers in their personal, academic, and social growth. Encourage them to embrace their identity, explore their passions, and build the skills they need to succeed in life.
  2. Engage in Intergenerational Mentoring: Facilitate mentorship between youth of different generations, creating a continuous exchange of wisdom, insights, and support that benefits both you and the younger generations.
  3. Be Part of the RYP Advisory Circle: Join the RYP Advisory Circle, a group that collaborates with RYP leaders to shape new programs and initiatives. Provide valuable input to ensure that RYP meets the evolving needs of the youth community and continues to drive positive change.
  4. Lead and Facilitate Programs: Take an active role in leading and facilitating RYP’s NewLife Programs©. These programs focus on leadership, personal growth, and community engagement, helping youth develop essential skills such as resilience, critical thinking, and self-identity.
  5. Create Meaningful Connections: Build lasting relationships with mentors, peers, and professionals. Expand your network and gain access to career opportunities, internships, and scholarships that will help you advance in your academic and professional journey.
  6. Develop Critical Life Skills: Strengthen your leadership, communication, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence skills. These life skills will support your personal growth and enable you to inspire and empower others.

  • Focus on Wealth, Wellness, and Resilience: Gain essential life skills that will help you create generational wealth, mental wellness, and resilience. RYP emphasizes emotional well-being and prepares you to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
  • Develop Leadership Skills: As an Ambassador, you’ll gain hands-on experience leading others, preparing you for future leadership roles in both your career and community.

How to Apply

To apply as an RYP Ambassador, you must be between the ages of 16 and 26 and demonstrate a passion for mentoring and making a difference. The application process requires:

  • A resume
  • One letter of recommendation (from a teacher, mentor, or employer)
  • A two-paragraph submission on your vision for leadership and mentorship within the African Diaspora community.
